Analysis Services Alerts

The SSAS alerts screen displays details of configurable alerts to help you with monitoring of instances.

The screen is split into 3 tabs - Current, History and Configure. The following screenshot is of the configure tab, showing all available alerts and their configuration:

SSAS alert configuration

You can enable/disable each alert as well as set email addresses on an alert by alert basis as well as choose to write the particular alert to the Windows event log. This enables other 3rd party management apps to see it.
Where appropriate each alert can have its own major and minor threshold such as Mb Free disk space as in the screen shot above. This will raise an alert when either threshold is broken of appropriate severity/type.

When major priority alerts are raised they are colored red and minor are colored orange as you can see in the screenshot of the "Current Alerts" view beneath:

SSAS alert configuration

Clicking on a current alert will display it's details in the lower pane. Raised time, priority and reson for it being raised are all displayed.
Any alerts displayed here are still occuring on the server.

The history tab shows exactly the same information but for alerts that have been raised in the past.
