Server Groups settings organize monitored servers into named groups. Groups make large Mini DBA estates easier to navigate, filter, report, and delegate.
The Servers panel has a Groups button at the top of the navigation tree. Select Groups to toggle grouped navigation on or off. When grouped view is active and group data is available, select Edit beside the Groups button to open this Server Groups settings page directly.
Useful groups include production, development, customer, region, platform, business application, and support ownership. In MSP mode, groups can also separate customer estates.
Good server groups make monitoring easier to scan and delegate. Create groups around the way your team responds to issues: production versus development, customer estate, business application, region, platform, or operational owner. Avoid creating many overlapping groups unless they support a clear workflow.
Server groups also help with reporting and managed service operation. A customer group can support customer-specific dashboards and reports, while a production group can help prioritize alert review. In larger deployments, group membership should be reviewed whenever servers are added, retired, migrated, or transferred between teams.
If explicit group membership is required, make sure new monitored servers are assigned during onboarding. Otherwise, important servers may appear outside the expected views.
Use the structure your support process already follows: customer, environment, application, region, platform, or owner.
Only when it helps real workflows. Too many overlapping groups can make ownership unclear.
They help separate customer estates and make cross-engine views easier to filter and report.
