Use the ASM Disk Groups health check to review Oracle ASM capacity and offline disk risk when Mini DBA can read V$ASM_DISKGROUP.

Why it matters

ASM is below the database tablespace layer. A database can show ordinary tablespace symptoms while the real problem is low ASM usable file space, lost redundancy, or offline disks.

What Mini DBA checks

Disk group used percent.
Usable file space and free space.
Redundancy type and state.
Offline disk count.

What to do

Open Oracle Operations and review the ASM Disk Groups tab. If offline disks are present, investigate ASM/storage health and redundancy before treating the issue as a normal capacity alert. If capacity is high, check growth sources such as datafiles, tempfiles, archive logs, RMAN backups, and FRA usage.
