Use the Datafile Offline/Recover State alert to detect Oracle datafiles that are not in a healthy available or online state.

Why it matters

A datafile in offline, recover, or otherwise unhealthy state can affect tablespace access, writes, recovery, and application availability. This condition should be investigated as a database/storage incident rather than treated as ordinary capacity pressure.

What to check

Open Oracle Containers & Schemas and review the Datafiles tab.
Check the affected file path, tablespace, and status.
Review Oracle alert log entries around the same time.
Confirm storage, ASM, backup, and recovery state with the DBA before restarting workloads.

Tuning the alert

The default threshold is one affected datafile. Keep this enabled for production Oracle environments.
